How squared text works
Each letter is swapped for a character from the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement block (U+1F130–U+1F149). These were added for legacy East Asian encodings, where enclosed letters and numbers are common in lists and forms.
Coverage for this style: A–Z (lowercase becomes uppercase). Anything outside that range passes through unchanged.
Where squared works
| Platform | Where it renders |
|---|---|
| Bio, captions, comments and name field. Usernames only allow letters, numbers, periods and underscores. | |
| TikTok | Bio and nickname. Usernames are restricted to plain characters. |
| X / Twitter | Display name, bio and posts. Not in the @handle. |
| Discord | Display name, server nicknames, status and messages. Not in the unique username. |
| WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage | Names, statuses and messages. |
| Posts and comments. Profile names are reviewed and may be rejected. | |
| Games | Fortnite, Free Fire, PUBG and Roblox accept many of these in display names, with per-game limits. |
| Word, Google Docs, Notion | Anywhere Unicode text is accepted, though ordinary formatting is a better choice for documents. |
Support warning: this style uses less common characters. It renders on current iPhones, Android phones, Windows 10 and later and macOS, but may show as boxes on older devices, smart TVs and some games.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make squared text? +
Type in the box above. The squared version appears instantly. Click it, or the copy button, and paste it wherever you need it with Ctrl+V or Command+V.
Is this a real font? +
No. Each letter is replaced with a look-alike character from the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement block of Unicode. The result is plain text, which is why it pastes anywhere.
Why do some characters not change? +
This style covers A–Z (lowercase becomes uppercase). Characters outside that set have no styled equivalent in Unicode and are left as they are.
Will squared work in my Instagram or TikTok username? +
Not in the @username, which only allows letters, numbers, periods and underscores. It works in your display name, bio and captions.
Can screen readers read squared? +
Poorly. Screen readers announce the technical name of each character or skip it. Do not use it for anything people need to read.
